Workshops

We have several workshop sessions as part of the afternoon fun! The workshops include:

  • Introduction to Java Programming (two sessions)
  • Working with GitHub (two sessions)
  • Robot Inspection Overview
  • Qualifying Tournament Registration Overview
  • Understanding Judging
  • Understanding the Dean’s List Award
  • FIRST Tech Challenge Team Outreach
  • FIRST Tech Challenge Robot Control System Overview
  • Referee Q&A
  • FIRST Tech Challange / Game Design “Ask Me Anything”
  • Understanding FIRST Tech Challenge Leagues
  • Coaches’ Roundtable
  • Transitioning to FIRST Tech Challenge from FIRST LEGO League

Most of the workshops will have a limited capacity. Please limit your team to no more than 1 or 2 students per workshop so that all teams can have an opportunity to take advantage of the learning opportunities!

Three of the sessions will be held in the Gym and will have effectively unlimited capacity.  These include; Referee Q&A, FTC/GDC AMA, and Understanding FTC Leagues

Registration

There is no cost to register. Registration is done through Eventbrite at https://2018-norcalftc-kickoff.eventbrite.com/

All teams are asked to register to attend the Game Unveil.  Please make an accurate count of attendees.  Our sponsors are all interested in

All workshops REQUIRE registration.  Please limit registration for any workshop (other than the larger three) to no more than 1 or 2 team members.
If there is space available in the classrooms after registered attendees all are seated, we will allow others to join as well.
