Below is a list of the volunteer roles at the Northern California FTC Tournament |

We need volunteers of all ages and talents to run the competition. We need help starting Friday 3/6 at 10am to get the field assembled and then most of the day Saturday on crowd control, safety glasses patrol, practice field attendant, etc. Volunteers can sign up by sending an email with contact information to ftcvolunteer@playingatlearning.org
Training will be supplied either at the time of the event, by conference call, or on-line. Volunteers that do shifts of over 4 hours will receive a **complimentary T-shirt** to be worn on-site when they are volunteering, and can worn with casual wear such as blue jeans or khakis and comfortable shoes. The volunteer T-shirts will be available on-site when you first arrive to work the event. |

To volunteer, send an email to ftcvolunteer@playingatlearning.org, making sure to include the volunteer position, your name, email address, and phone number. All volunteers will need a signed consent form – if the volunteer is under 18, the waiver must have a parent/guardian signature. | |||
Referee | Full Day | Responsible for officiating the robot game. Requires training. | |

Field Manager | Full Day | Responsible for the flow of activity on the playing field | |
Field Reset | Full Day | Aide to Field Mgr. Responsible for restoring the playing field to it’s starting state prior to each match. Youth eligible | |
Queue Manager | Full day | Responsible for flow of teams to the competition field. | |
Team Queuing | 1/2 and full day | Help ensure that teams get to the competition field on time. Youth eligible | |
Scorekeeper | Full Day | Responsible for the control of the game, as well as the entry of the scores. | |
A/V | Full Day | Help manage the audio/video systems used as part of the tournament. Youth eligible | |
Emcee | Full Day | Play-by-play announcer for the robot game, helping to keep it fun and lively. Youth eligible | |
Team Announcer | Full Day | Work with the emcee to help introduce each team as they come up to compete. Youth eligible | |
Pit Boss | Full Day | Responsible for overall management of the pits, the work and practice area for the teams. | |
Check In | 1/2 Day (AM) | Help check in teams in the morning and volunteers, throughout the day, as they arrive.as they arrive. Youth eligible | |
Robot Inspector (Fri, Sat) |
Full and 1/2 Day (AM) | Responsible for verifying that each robot adheres to the robot construction and software rules. Youth eligible with experience | |
First Aid | Full Day | On call in case of any minor accidents | |

Full Day | Be familiar with any of the 3 programming environment and help the teams in case of software issues. Youth eligible | |
