How to Become a NorCal FTC Sponsor:
Dear Business and Community Leader;
We would like to invite you to be a sponsor for Playing At Learning’s robotics outreach programs, including its Jr FLL, FLL and FTC events. Our program offerings promote interest in science and technology among youth from the first grade through high-school. During the 2008-2009 season, 14 robotics tournaments were hosted throughout Northern California supporting over 2500 young people. This year, we will host a Championship-level tournament for FTC with open registration to all FIRST teams on March 7, 2009 at the Computer History Museum.
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology) was the brainchild of the well-known inventor and businessman, Dean Kamen. FIRST Tech Challenge presents a complex challenge for students using a kit of parts that leverages the familiar (and accessible) LEGO NXT controller with more sophisticated programming and game strategy.
Playing At Learning was created in 2004 to bring these successful programs to more young people in our area. The FIRST programs are the centerpieces of our mission to prepare local youth to meet tomorrow’s engineering/technology workforce needs.
We need your support to continue these exciting outreach programs. Your contribution is an investment in the future of the Northern California’s youth and tomorrow’s technology workforce. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jill Wilker, President Playing At Learning, a 501(c)(3) public charity
